Inaugural restaurant festival comes to London
London is set to host the first Restaurant Festival this autumn.
The festival will offer visitors the chance to take a bus tour around London visiting many restaurants owned by famous TV chefs including Jamie Oliver, Anthony-Worrall-Thompson and Gordon Ramsay.
A number of events have been planned to take place alongside a Vietnamese food festival, with the programme of events culminating in an awards gala. Restaurant consultancy group Private View is hosting the occasion alongside Visit London, Single Market Events, Vanity Fair, Toptable.com and The Evening Standard.
Restaurateurs, critics and chef are invited to put down their ideas to assist in the running of the festival.
Restaurant critic and owner of Private View, Fay Maschler said: "London is an exceptional city and restaurants play a part in its fabric. This needs to be celebrated".
Visit London chief executive, Sally Chatterjee, added: "The London restaurant industry currently boasts some of the most celebrated and diverse talent in the world".
The event will be hosted between Thursday 8 October and Tuesday 13 October 2009.
