LTH adds sixth property to London portfolio
Independent hotel operator London Town Hotels (LTH) is hoping to benefit from the proposed Crossrail scheme after adding the 95-room London Crown Hotel Paddington to its five-strong estate of hotels in the city.
LTH declined to reveal the exact cost of the deal, which includes two groundfloor restaurants, but the property had been put on the market for around £15m by an overseas investor.
LTH, which already owns the Quality Hotel Paddington, announced that the site will now undergo a £2m refurbishment and when ready, target both the leisure and corporate market due to its immediate access to a number of public transport services.
LTH’s director of revenue, Matthew Brooks, said: “The success of the Heathrow Express link and the recently announced Crossrail scheme, linking Heathrow, Paddington, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf, makes Paddington one of the prime hotel locations in London.
“The addition of a second hotel to our portfolio in this key location has been a strategic objective of ours for some time.”
LTH operates five owned and leased hotels under the Comfort, Quality and Country Inns & Suites brands.
