New senior staff for sportscotland
The national agency for Scottish sport, sportscotland, has announced the appointment of three new senior staff members.
Mike Whittingham has been named as the organisation's director of high performance, while Stuart Ogg has joined as director of corporate services, and Mike Roberts has taken up the position of director of sports development. Whittingham's appointment follows sportscotland's merger with the Scottish Institute of Sport earlier this year. Ogg joins the agency from Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley, which he had been at since 1991, and Roberts is former chief executive of Scottish Gymnastics.
Sportscotland chief executive, Stewart Harris, said: "It is vital that we have a strong team driving the organisation and that we continue to work even more effectively with all our partners in Scottish sport to deliver legacy from the exciting opportunities that the UK and Scotland has through hosting the 2012 Olympic Games, and in particular, the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow."
