Planet Hollywood to launch in Las Vegas
Restaurant operator Planet Hollywood has announced details of its planned £1bn casino resort in Las Vegas.
Situated in the former Aladdin hotel-casino – which Planet Hollywood acquired in 2003 – the new revamped site will have 2,600 themed rooms, a large casino floor, a spa, restaurants, nightclubs, bars and more than 170 retail outlets.
Facilities include a 7,000-capacity theatre, a 1,500-capacity showroom, 75,000sq ft of meeting space and two swimming pools. The resort’s spa will be operated by Mandara.
The resort is due to open on 18 September 2007, and will be followed by the opening gof the Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate in 2009/ The soaring glass tower will be fifty stories high and feature 1,200 holiday villas, 23 penthouse suites and an exotic tropical pool with sandy beach.
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a joint venture partnership involving Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood; Bay Harbour Management; and Starwood Hotels & resorts.
