Regional Science Centre to open in Mangalore next year
A Regional Science Centre (RSC) is being built in Mangalore, India.
The attraction is being built on the Pilikula Nisargadhama – a lake that already boasts a botanical garden and a zoo – at a cost of Rs 8 crore (£1.05m, US$1.67m, 1.15m euro).
The RSC was initially supposed to cost Rs 6.5 crore, but the project hit delays getting planning approval.
It will boast a science park and five galleries, with bio-diversity, the environment and energy as the themes.
The project is being funded by the government and The National Council of Science Museums, which is behind the scheme.
The RSC is scheduled to open in December 2010.
