Royal Mulu Resort in Marriott re-brand
Malaysia's Royal Mulu Resort is to be re-branded the Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa.
The move follows a refurbishment programme involving all the guest rooms and public spaces, under a management agreement between Marriott International and Borsarmulu Resort. Designed in the style of ethnic longhouses, the resort sits on wooden stilts, rising three meters above the ground and linked by a series of wooden walkways. All guest rooms offer balconies; in-room mini-bar, safe, flat-screen TV and hi-speed internet access; and bathrooms with separate tub and shower.
The lobby features a lobby lounge with library and an open-space business centre. Dining and drinking options include an all-day, three-meal restaurant offering outdoor seating for al fresco dining, a private dining room, a riverside bar and a bakery/deli situated adjacent to the restaurant. Recreational amenities will include a spa with six treatment rooms; an outdoor swimming pool; a fitness centre; an activity centre for recreational activity briefings and equipment storage and rental; and a Marriott Kids Club.
Architects to the refurbishment are C.C. Chan Architects, with interior design by Hirsch Bedner Associates.
