Turks and Caicos retreat to open in 2009
Further details have been revealed about a 560-acre private island retreat called Dellis Cay Island in the Turks and Caicos, British West Indies.
The property will be divided into seven lifestyle areas, each designed by a different master architect.
Commissioned architects include the UK-based Zaha Hadid and David Chipperfield, Piero Lissoni from Italy, Kengo Kuma and Shigeru Ban of Japan, Carl Ettensperger of Singapore and US-based Chad Oppenheim. Each area will be serviced by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG).
The first project phase includes residences designed by Lissoni. Further phases include lake villas designed by Kuma, each with a private spa.
Kuma has also been commissioned to create a luxury 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m) Spa at Mandarin Oriental Dellis Cay.
Built over a lake, the spa will include 17 treatment rooms, a VIP couples’ suite, heat and water areas for therapies and an outdoor watsu pool.
Dellis Cay is being masterminded by the development group O Property Company and will launch in 2009.
