Welsh park's maze tribute to boxer
By Pete Hayman
A Welsh activity park has paid tribute to Joe Calzaghe by opening a giant maze in the shape of the champion boxer.
Heatherton Activity Park, near Tenby, Pembrokeshire, created the image of the world super-middleweight champion in a field of maize. The maze is grown from scratch each year to a height of 10ft tall, and is 10 miles in length. The park has previously immortalised the likes of Welsh celebrities Tom Jones and Ryan Giggs in a similar fashion. Charles Davies, a spokesman for the park, said: "We feel it will be the most popular as Calzaghe is a true peoples' champion, idolised and admired by many." In addition to the maze, Heatherton has also added a new High Ropes course for 2008.A Welsh activity park has paid tribute to Joe Calzaghe by opening a giant maze in the shape of the champion boxer.
