The second phase of a £4.2m investment in the centre – which is operated by Greenwich Leisure (GLL), the facility will reopen in early 2006 offering members a spa complete with sauna, hot rooms, aroma steamroom, plunge pool, seven treatment rooms and a relaxation area.
Product suppliers for treatments at the 860sq m (9,250sq ft) spa have yet to be confirmed.
Phase one of the centre’s revamp included a new entrance and reception as the new Wellness Health & Fitness suite. The gym boasts 82 pieces of equipment by Technogym.
The entire project has been jointly funded by Greenwich Leisure and Tower Hamlets Council. GLL manages all the leisure facilities in Tower Hamlets.
Tower Hamlets Lead Councillor for Culture, Denise Jones said: "Tower Hamlets Council is keen to encourage people to take up healthier lifestyles and relaxation is one of the best ways to relieve the stress of modern day living.
