Dulwich Leisure Centre goes digital
Life Fitness, working in partnership with Fusion Lifestyle, has completed work forming part of a refurbishment of the Dulwich Leisure Centre by Southwark Council in London.
Situated inside the original Victorian Dulwich baths, the revamp both takes advantage of the spacious environment and retains the historic charm of the original 1892 architecture, complete with the viewing balcony. The new 420sq m (4,520sq ft) fitness suite, which forms part of the site's new offering, houses 100 stations of technologically advanced Life Fitness equipment.
Officially opened on 26 June - exactly 119 years to the day after the centre first opened to the public - Dulwich Leisure Centre is the first fitness facility in the country to have the new Life Fitness cardiovascular equipment installed. This now boasts integrated digital TV screens with built in FreeView, giving customers access to over 68 TV channels. The company used the vast size of the gym to implement the Life Fitness Journey to maximum effect. The strategic floor plan and equipment choice has been designed to promote exercise progression and at the same time cater for all users.
This includes the installation of the Life Fitness Journey screens which help navigate customers on their exercise pathway and highlights specific destinations such as the Circuit Series area. This area offers quick access and easy-to-use fitness solutions, comprising 10 stations including Life Fitness Strength equipment and fitness accessories such as stretch mats and Swiss balls, as well as Power Plate and TRX frame and bands sitting alongside.
There's also a dedicated Life Fitness Signature Strength area and cv hub.
