Winners of the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Personal Trainer Awards are announced
The winners of the nation’s first Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gold Standard Awards have now been chosen by a panel of the UK’s fitness industry leaders. Optimum Nutrition is now pleased to announce the winners across the four categories:
- Personal Trainer: Robert Stevenson (Type 1 Fitness)
- Instructor: Janine George - PT Team: Locker 27
- Nutritionist: Emilia Thompson
Robert Stevenson, from Type 1 Fitness received the coveted Gold Standard Personal Trainer Award for his impressive work within his local community of Annalong, Northern Ireland. He has demonstrated achievements through client results, growth of his business and his outstanding work in promoting health and wellbeing on a local level.
Janine George sets the Gold Standard in group instructing. She has been recognised for effectively executing energetic and inspiring group fitness classes at popular London gyms. Members continue to return to her classes as she constantly challenges them and provides variation in her training.
Lockers 27 from Weybridge entered into the PT Team category and have been acknowledged for their achievements in delivering diverse training for those focused on performance and training for purpose. Their team offers an array of specialist coaches for aspiring athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
Sport and Exercise Nutritionist, Emilia Thompson was recognised for her industry success and has been awarded the sought-after Nutritionist Award. Working with a range of recreational to elite athletes and University teams, she has demonstrated positive nutritional principles to improve health, performance and nutritional goals.
Over 150 fitness professionals entered the inaugural ON Gold Standard Personal Trainer Awards via the ON website. The categories were judged based on demonstration of leadership, innovation and success within their trade. The winners were selected by high profile fitness industry leaders including; ON athletes Shaun Stafford, Emma Williams, and Richard Tidmarsh. They were joined by international fitness trainer and presenter, Fitzroy Gaynes, Fitness and Nutrition Lecturer and Course Developer Richard Schrivener and Personal Training Director, Chris Walton.

This has been a great opportunity to see the hard work that is going into motivating and inspiring clients to achieve their fitness goals, as well as gain insight into the innovations and successes that shape the industry. Winners from each category and will receive £3,500 worth of product, £1500 to go towards an educational fitness or nutrition programmes of their choice, and have the opportunity to provide their clients with discounted products. Winners are also profiled on www.onacademy.co.uk
